Our Commitment to Referring Physicians
The Temple Lung Center is committed to keeping you abreast of your patient's care. We know that quality lung care requires not just expert diagnosis and management of complex conditions, but also good communication with referring physicians. We will contact referring physicians within 48 hours of any significant event in a patient's care. With our system, a fax or letter summarizing notices of admissions, discharge, office visits, or other milestones will automatically be sent to the referring physician. Our approach is one of cooperative effort with you, providing timely, ongoing communication throughout therapy, until the patient is returned to your care.
Our Commitment to Practical and Ethical Research
Clinical studies are of course essential to medical progress but they are, moreover, part of our commitment as a leading academic center to share the tangible benefits of research with pulmonologists and patients throughout the U.S. Our leadership roles in a state-wide COPD study, in national trials of lung volume reduction and oxygen supplementation, and in dozens of drug and device trials have allowed us to introduce ourselves to many colleagues and to provide thousands of patients from around the country with access to alternative treatments.
The Temple Lung Center is a long-time member of the Clinical Research Network of the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute and currently has approximately 25 active research studies underway in areas such as COPD, severe emphysema, alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency, pulmonary hypertension, pulmonary fibrosis, and asthma. Hundreds of peer-reviewed articles, abstracts, and book chapters have been published by the physicians of the Temple Lung Center.

The Temple Lung Center is committed to delivering the most advanced and effective treatments to patients with the most challenging respiratory disorders and pulmonary diseases. We will evaluate and treat patients with all stages of pulmonary and critical disease, even those with long-standing respiratory failure. Our goal is to improve and extend the lives of all patients with respiratory illnesses.
